Mission
To provide assistance to persons in need, foster and promote acquisition and/or development of parks and recreation facilities, make available cultural arts opportunities and engage in activities incidental to accomplishing such purposes within the City of Prairie Village.

Mayor's Holiday Tree Fund 
- Began in 1986
- The tree is lighted as a reminder of the City's utility assistance and home maintenance program
- Funds are used to help residents in need with utility assistance and home maintenance
- Program is run by Johnson County and is available for Prairie Village residents who qualify

Q: How do I make a contribution?
A: Send your cash/check to the Municipal Foundation at 7700 Mission Road and write the designation in the memo line. All contributions are tax-deductible. |
Q: How much do I have to donate to receive significant recognition?
A: Donations in the amount of $5,000 or more will be designated by a plaque bearing the name of the donor or honoree. Gifts of $500 or more will be listed on a brass plaque on the memorial board in the Municipal Building. Gifts of less than $500 will be listed in a memorial book to be maintained in the Municipal Building. |
Q: How do I donate a specific gift or money for a specific gift to the City through the Foundation?
A: Specific gifts or funds may be set up in honor or memory of someone. Speak with the City Administrator about your idea and they will discuss the idea with the Municipal Foundation Executive Committee |
Q: How can I volunteer my time?
A: The foundation needs volunteers for events such as the Tree Lighting Ceremony and VillageFest. Contact a member of the committee for more information. |
